Liberals slam singer
Liberal Democrat and Tory politicians have slammed singer-songwriter John D. Lewis's new single - 'On The March'.
They say the song - released on Tuesday - is nothing more than a 'left-wing' rant from a man 'living in the past'.
'On The March' - written by Lewis with his partner, Dawn Lewis - charts the history of industrial decline in the North-East.
But it is the video of the song which has angered the Lib-Dems and their Tory coalition partners.
It shows Nick Clegg, David Cameron and George Osborne juxtaposed against headlines slamming Tuesday's budget and laid over the top of pictures of North East workers marching against cuts.
The video points to the impending closure of dozens of North-East care homes and the decline of the farming industry. The video closes with images of the 1936 Jarrow march.
