Love & Hope: John D. Lewis.
(Steel version).

Around 1,700 steelworkers on Teesside lost their jobs in February, 2010 while the Government stood idly by and let it happen.

Gordon Brown, Peter Mandelson and Alastair Darling were eager to pick the taxpayers' pockets when it came to finding billions to bail out the banks. But when it came to Redcar's men and women of steel, they said: "We'll do all we can to help," but they did nothing.

And so Corus Steel "mothballed" it's Redcar works: few believe it will ever reopen.

As the steelworkers and their families face their bleak unemployed future, the bankers - who's personal greed led to the near collapse of the world's "financial system" - will be starting the spend their multi-million pound bonuses ... paid for by taxpayer courtesy of Brown, Darling, Mandelson and the rest of the "government".

No just-minded Government would allow such inequity.

The steelmen and women of Teesside and their families have our best wishes.
