John D. Lewis - COUNTRY

John D. Lewis.

When Country Music legend, Homer Joy sent me a copy of "An Old Outlaw Comes Home", I told him: "You could have written that song about me." You see, I have this view about singing Country music: if you haven't lived it, you can't sing it."

And that's my life story really: I've lived it and it's in the songs I sing. There ARE blessings!

Kieran, my little boy, and Dawn, my wife, best friend and the wordsmith in our songwriting partnership;
A house on a hill filled with true love, laughter and - sometimes - tears;
My music which sees me through the bad times, and shares the good ones;

Friends: Daniel - who pointed me in the right direction; John, who keeps me on the straight and narrow; Homer - who NEVER preaches!

The men and women in the "rooms" of a South Coast town who shared with me and who let me share.

Their are burdens too: My shattered childhood: Never having father at home from age five and moving from town to town, house to house, school to school while - in the amazing words of my brother, Martyn - "ambition burned our home away".

And the future?
Dawn, Kieran and the music.

May your Higher Power go with you. God Bless.
